What we collect, and what for
We only ask for what we need, and in each case for a specific reason.
Newsletter
We collect your email address, the language of the page you subscribed from, and the date and time you did it. We use them only to let you know when something new is published.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you confirm by clicking the link in the verification email. Until you click it, we send you nothing else.
Retention: until you unsubscribe. The unsubscribe link sits at the foot of every email and takes one click, with no passwords and no forms.
Contact form
We collect your name, email address and the content of your message, so that we can reply. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry. We keep them for as long as the conversation lasts and for as long as we need to deal with any liability arising from it.
Blog comments
We collect your name, email address, IP address and the content of the comment, with your consent, for as long as the comment stays published.
Browsing
The server logs the usual technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and to keep the site running.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or hand over your data to third parties for commercial purposes. Ever.
To keep the site running we use providers that, by their nature, process data on our behalf: Kit (Kit.com, Inc., United States) to manage and send the newsletter; SiteGround (European Union) for hosting; and Automattic / Akismet (United States) for the comment spam filter.
International transfers to the United States rely on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider.
Your rights
At any time, and free of charge, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw the consent you gave us, without affecting the lawfulness of any processing carried out beforehand.
To do so, write to talktotem@totembranding.com saying which right you want to exercise. We may ask you to prove your identity.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es), which is the competent supervisory authority.
Cookies
This site uses its own cookies, necessary for it to work, and third-party cookies where applicable. You can configure or reject them from your browser.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is infallible, but we treat your data with the same care we would want for our own.
